NMS is Wild About Reading

It’s time to get wild about reading!

Summer is the perfect time to explore, learn, investigate and find a new adventure in the pages of a book! The Neshannock Elementary library Summer Reading Program, Wild About Reading, will begin soon! The program will be held every Tuesday,  June 13th through August 15th,  in the Elementary Library throughout the summer (excluding July 4th) from 9:30-11am.  New for this year, there will even be a story time from 10:00-10:30am where teacher and PTO members will be reading their favorite stories aloud to attendees and their families.

Each week students can select books on their independent reading levels as well as books of high interest.  For each summer reading session they attend, students may select a prize in addition to entering their name into a drawing to win a book.

The summer reading program concludes on August 15th with a finale program from 9:30-11am. The finale program will feature a visit from local author Michael J. Wick, story time from 10-10:30am, book drawing, and activities for parents and students. Michael is the author of I Love You All The Time.  He lives in Butler, PA with his wife, Laura, and their two children. He spends his days working as a roofer, and after becoming a dad he was inspired to write a book for his kids.

Sign up sheets for the summer reading program have been distributed to students and are also available on the  Elementary Library Webpage. Signing up to participate in the summer reading is certainly not required, but it is strongly encouraged.  If you have questions, please contact Mrs. Amy Ebner, elementary librarian, at  724-652-8709 ext. 4701 or via email at aebner@ntsd.org – We hope to see you this summer!
