Reopening 2020

Three focus groups – comprised of administrators, teachers, medical professionals, and parents – have been dedicated to creating a safe reopening plan for Neshannock Township School District. Health and safety guidelines provided by the CDC, Pennsylvania Department of Health, and Pennsylvania Department of Education will guide all decisions as we finalize our reopening plans.

The plans are constantly evolving as the committees are actively examining every detail while also trying to anticipate factors beyond the control of the District. In addition to preparing the physical space, we are also continuing to prepare for our learners who are not comfortable returning to the brick and mortar setting. Neshannock Online Academy will be offering a free, enhanced online option for full-time virtual learning for students in Grades K-12.

The District had initially planned to host a series of in-person, informational meetings for parents and caregivers to discuss the reopening plans; however, limitations on gatherings will prohibit us from being able to do so at this time. Instead, final reopening plans will be delivered to our students and their families via U.S. Mail, as well as posted to the District website and social media outlets.

Please know that we are doing our very best to prepare a safe learning environment for our students and staff while also navigating through changing scenarios and remaining mindful of the needs of our working parents and caregivers. We thank you for your continued support and patience.
